Providing a psychiatric opinion for the purpose of submitting it to authorities such as the National Insurance Committee, IDF officials, the Eligibility and Characterization Committee of the Ministry of Education, insurance companies, the court, and more. It is done after reviewing previous documents and a psychiatric diagnosis of the child.

The opinion for the IDF is intended to give a broad picture of the previous psychiatric background, the current emotional and mental state of the boy and the impression regarding his suitability for military service or the need to adjust the conditions of service to the existing difficulties.
A psychiatric opinion for the Eligibility and Characterization Committee is often required in order to adapt an educational framework and educational adjustments to your child's difficulties. A psychiatric opinion for the National Insurance Committee is intended to give a detailed description of functional difficulties as a result of existing psychiatric diagnoses.
A psychiatric opinion for the insurance companies or the court functions as a tool to confirm or refute a claim regarding the mental state of a minor, whether it is a legal claim on his part or such a claim is asserted against him. Providing the opinion will be done after the completion of a full psychiatric diagnosis in the clinic. An opinion involves the collection of documents and a meticulous medical history of the child, as well as a clinical psychiatric examination of the subject of the opinion, before writing.

Possible reasons for referral

Your child is dealing with an emotional and/or mental difficulty and has been asked to bring the opinion of a treating psychiatrist to the recruiting office

When there is a previous psychiatric background or current follow-up treatment, you will often be required to bring a psychiatric opinion to the recruiting office.

It seems that a normal education framework is not suitable for the emotional and functional needs of your child, therefore it was decided to form an eligibility and characterization committee in order to find an educational framework that suits his needs.

The Eligibility and Characterization Committee will examine your child's eligibility for the provision of a personal study basket or his/her inclusion in a special education class or a special education school. For the purpose of examining eligibility, you will sometimes be required to bring a psychiatric opinion.
